A man came home around 5:30 p.m. to his residence on St. Francis Way in the San Roque neighborhood on Monday evening. He stated he smelled some kind of electrical smoke.
He parked his Honda Pilot in the carport and 15 minutes later he came out and the vehicle was engulfed in flames.
Fire station 4 in San Roque is only a few blocks away. Fire engines from all around town responded along with AMR ambulance.
They quickly knocked the fire out and saved the main structure of the house.
A neighbor says she suffered heavy smoke inhalation and later AMR returned to check her out. Fire investigators arrived soon after, the main cause of this fire is still under investigation.
