The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office has released more details regarding the suspect vehicle connected to the 2022 murder of an elderly Montecito woman.
Violet Evelyn Alberts, 96 and a longtime resident of Montecito, was found deceased in her residence on Park Lane on May 27, 2022.
Earlier this month, the Sheriff’s Office announced a $10,000 cash reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Alberts’s murder. Additionally, photos of the suspect’s vehicle were released to the public. Now, detectives are asking for help from Los Angeles area residents.
The Sheriff’s Office states detectives have been following up on leads generated by the earlier photo release and request for information. New photos have been released, extracted from a closed-circuit video camera, along with a second request that members of the public reach out with any information they may have about the suspects associated with the vehicle, suspected to be a 2015-2018 white Porsche Cayenne.
Detectives are specifically asking for assistance from Los Angeles area residents as they have discovered the white Porsche traveled from Los Angeles to Montecito on the evening of the murder.
“Residents in the Los Angeles area that may have loaned or rented their 2015-2018 white Porsche Cayenne in May 2022 are encouraged to reach out to detectives. Detectives are also encouraging Montecito residents to continue to check for any surveillance footage from May 2022 for this vehicle,” the Sheriff’s Office states.
Prior to her murder, Alberts was the victim of fraud which was being investigated by the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office. The suspect involved in the fraud has been in custody since August 9, 2022. However, Detectives are still attempting to identify the suspect responsible for the murder.
The Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office is still offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for her murder.

June 5, 2023: Sheriff Announces Cash Reward for Information on Montecito Homicide
Who wants to bet it was the moron that did the fraud?
The Sheriff’s office won’t even dispatch or low level prioritize a law enforcement officer to a misdemeanor offense. They willingly acknowledge this during 911 calls .
It’s honestly depressing to see SBSO attempting to solve this over a year down the road, when it is unlikely the public will remember or be able to provide any help. Why has it taken so long? Ego?
She deserved better.
Agreed. They obviously have zero yet are only offering $10,000. Stop fuking your chopper around and you can post a real reward. Chumps.
Big Billy Sheriff with an ego? Nah doesn’t sound like him. /s
Anybody from LA that loaned or rented their white Cayenne?? Bueller? Great job a year later. Fabulous. And only $10,000? Perhaps your gasoline budget is too high for your helicopters? Btw here’s some pictures proving we have cameras even though we pretend we don’t.
Front license plate requirements in California are a joke. If there was a front licence plate on this car it could have been detected in the photo.
So what about the cal trans cameras all along the highways? Couldn’t you look for white Porsches in a time range going into and out of SB?
Lakers work smarter, not harder SBPD.
We are tired of paying the bill.
