Where is the best local bakery to order a lot of donuts and bagels for a morning birthday party?
There are plenty of donut shops but I’m having a hard time finding one that does decent bagels too.

Bagel Market Cafe on the Mesa
Always recommend locally owned Spudnuts on upper State.
It’s a hard time finding decent bagels anywhere in SB County. Or So Cal. Or all of the west coast, while we’re at it! 🙂
Bagel Market Cafe on the Mesa has pretty decent bagels (for Santa Barbara) and donuts. The Bagel Boiz were awesome when they were baking but have gone on hiatus. My son just brought some killer bagels from Hank’s in Calabassas – might even be worth the drive!
Jack’s Bagels on lower Milpas but go early or your faves will sell out. BEST and freshest donuts I have found are at Anna’s Bakery up by Costco. I think they change their oil quite often because the donuts taste fresh.

Jack’s Bagels on Milpas for bagels. Others can’t compete.
iV Bagel Cafe and Jack’s Bistro (locations on Milpas and in Carpenria) both have good bagels for California. Mesa Bagels are inferior.
I would spilt. Jacks for bagels and Spudnuts for donuts, They are both locally owned. Both have great products
i like the Begals at Winco’s in Ventura.
or ones at Ralph’s and Vons/Albertsons.

The ones mailed from the east coast are too dry..
My understanding is the NYC bagels are said to taste different because of the water the bagels are boiled in. We had city water to our house, but grew up drinking creek water piped from a spring, and when I moved up to the Sierras for a while, I was amazed at how good the water tasted. That said, I still like SB water. It tastes like home
