Vehicle Crash and Fire in Santa Ynez

Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to a vehicle collision and growing fire in Santa Ynez on Tuesday.

At 8:51 p.m., crews arrived in the 2900 block of Brinkerhoff and found a BMW X3 had crashed into a tree. The vehicle caught fire and was spreading to nearby brush.

Firefighers were able to stop the fire from spreading and kept it to a 20×20 foot area within 10 minutes.

The driver was able to safely exit the vehicle and did not sustain injuries.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
