Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce E. Dudley announced today that charges have been filed against Sergio Chagolla Chagolla as a result of a collision that occurred on May 28, 2017 at the intersection of Railroad and Donovan in Santa Maria. The complaint charges a felony violation of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol Causing Injury in violation of Vehicle Code section 23153(a) with the special allegation that more than one victim was injured, and the special allegation that two separate victims suffered great bodily injury, pursuant to Penal Code section 12022.7. The complaint also charges Chagolla Chagolla with the misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended license.
The Arraignment is scheduled on May 31, 2017 in Santa Maria Superior Court, Department 9.
