Had some exciting bird action in the backyard yesterday and today in the More Mesa area. A Red Shoulder Hawk and a Coopers Hawk decided our bird feeders were the perfect place to pick up a quick breakfast snack.

If I posted some photos of my Kittycat (his given name) grabbing a quick snack like that, there’d be no end to the squawking about “murdering cats”. Probably also be a discussion about the benefits of making cats go vegan, and what a fantastic life they can have locked up in the house 24/7, once the old gonads have been removed. Anywho, nice to see that not all creatures are considered “evil” for doing what comes naturally to them, and great pics too!
Here’s a clue: Hawks are a natural part of our ecosystem. Thousands of cats, not so much.
