I just got an email from Cox stating they were implementing a data cap of 1TB, starting October 6th. Did anyone else get such an email? What are our options?

They could easily NOT have a monopoly if we all stopped using cox and ended their shenanigans. There are plenty of other sources out there these days.
Complete failure to grasp economic reality. If there were plenty of other sources then Cox would not have a monopoly. And a large number of independent agents all acting in concert against their immediate individual interests in order to obtain a long term community interest is the opposite of easy. Mb is Megabit and MB is Megabyte. There are 8 bits in a byte. With that being said 250 Mb (Megabit) is actually 0.00003125 TB (Terabyte). Speed is typically measured in bits and storage in bytes.
Also, gaming takes very little compared to video streaming.
