Overnight Electrical Work On State Route 1/246 Begins Next Week

A full closure of State Route 1 at Laurel Avenue will begin on Monday, Oct. 2 and continue through Friday, Oct. 6.  This closure is necessary so that Union Pacific Railroad can perform repairs to the railroad tracks at this location.

Motorists traveling in each direction will detour between “O” Street and West College Avenue to reach State Route 1 (H Street). Electronic message boards have been activated to inform the public about this full closure.  Motorists can expect delays not to exceed 10 minutes. This project is being performed by Union Pacific Railroad, under permit from Caltrans.
