A triple fatality head-on traffic collision took place on SR-166 near Cuyama late Sunday afternoon.
At 4:21 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to the vehicle accident one mile west of Cuyama. On arrival, they found two SUV’s had collided head-on. Inside one vehicle was a male and a female, estimated to be in their 40s or 50s. Inside the other vehicle was a single male in his 20s, reported Captain Dave Zaniboni.
All three motorists were pronounced dead on arrival.
A CALstar helicopter and ambulance were canceled en route. California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of this incident.

Shortly before 4:30 P.M. two SUVs were in a head-on collision on Hwy 166, approximately a mile west of Cuyama. First-responders reported three dead upon arrival. I heard it from SB County Dispatch Center via the scanner.
