I’ve had a small office in one of the old hangars out at the airport for years. If you are the type to wonder what it was like back when the war birds were stacked up everywhere, you look for photos. Looking around the building, it’s easy to imagine mechanics and pilots milling around, and even find bits of evidence like pencil markings and such. I can find pictures of the ramps and overhead views of the entire airport. What I have never found is pictures of inside the old wooden hangars. Surely there must have been some, likely many were lost over time in the personal collections of relatives. Here’s “Uncle Louie” 1943, working on a Corsair engine… Does anyone have photos of inside the WWII hangars?
