United, American and Alaska Airlines are all offering travel waivers for flights to/from Santa Barbara airport for tickets purchased before January 10/11 (depending on the airline) due to the mudslides. The waivers vary airline to airline and are outlined below:
Original travel date(s): January 11, 2018 – January 15, 2018
Flight changes :The change fee and any difference in fare will be waived for new United flights departing on or before January 18, 2018, as long as travel is rescheduled in the originally ticketed cabin (any fare class) and between the same cities as originally ticketed.
- Santa Barbara, California (SBA)
The change fee may be waived if you:
- Are traveling on an American Airlines flight
- Bought your ticket by January 10, 2018
- Are scheduled to travel January 11 – 18, 2018
- Can travel January 11 – 21, 2018
- Don’t change your origin or destination city
- Rebook in the same cabin or pay the difference
Travel To/From: Santa Barbara (SBA)
Tickets Purchased On/Before: January 11, 2018
Original Travel Dates: January 11-15, 2018
Exception Policy: We will waive the change fees and the difference in the price of the ticket if the new travel is booked to or from the affected cities in the same cabin and completed on or before January 18, 2018. You may request a refund if you choose not to travel at all. Tickets must be exchanged or refunded on or before January 18, 2018. Rebook your flight or apply for a refund online.
