Vehicle Crashes into Pole Cutting Off Power in the Santa Ynez Valley

A vehicle crashed into a power pole on Jonata Park Road Tuesday, causing a power outage in sections of Buellton and Solvang.

At approximately 4:40 p.m., for unknown reasons a single vehicle collided with the pole causing power lines to fall. Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to the scene and treated the male driver who sustained moderate injuries. He was then transported to an ambulance who continued transporting him to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, said Public Information Officer Mike Eliason.

PG&E responded to the scene to fix the downed lines and to restore power to nearby residents.

The California Highway Patrol is handling the investigation of this incident.
