Habitat for Humanity Continues Disaster Relief Work in Montecito
Habitat for Humanity of Southern Santa Barbara County (HFHSSBC) is continuing to coordinate local volunteer efforts to offer relief for the victims of the deadly floods and mudslides in Montecito. More than 450 volunteers have already been out over the past two weekends shoveling mud and working on properties in some of the hardest hit neighborhoods.
Volunteers must:
- Sign up at https://www.volunteerup.com/login.asp?o=2&w=i
- Wear sturdy close-toed shoes, long pants and long-sleeved shirts for safety
- Be 16 years or older
- Bring a shovel if you have one
Orientation starts promptly at 8:30 am and it is very important you are on time to hear all of the safety instructions. Volunteers are highly encouraged to bring water and wear sunscreen, and to leave valuables at home.
