Live Update on Tuesday’s Storm

What’s being called the “most powerful storm since January 9th” is set to land in our area on Tuesday evening and stick around until Friday. Rainfall rates of 0.5 to 0.75 inch per hour are expected during the storm and a pre-evacuation advisory has already been issued for areas under the Thomas, Sherpa, Whittier, and Alamo fire burn scars.

Santa Barbara County officials are holding a press conference at 5:00 p.m. on Monday to update the public on the status of the storm. A video will be available below of the live press conference, as well as the full recorded version.

The National Weather Service is will report live rainfall numbers as does Santa Barbara One Rain. If you live in a hazard area, be prepared to evacuate and make plans for a place to stay through Friday. Visit Santa Barbara has an up to date list of available hotels, the most recent version here
