A motorcyclist was killed in a traffic collision on Highway 1 near Jalama on Sunday afternoon.
At 2:40 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to the scene three miles south of Jalama Road. Crews discovered a two-vehicle accident with a Ford Explorer vs a motorcycle.
The male motorcyclist was ejected on impact and determined to be dead on arrival. There were four occupants in the Ford Explorer, an adult male driver, an adult female passenger, and two female children. All suffered minor injuries and were transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in two ground ambulances.
CHP has the road closed in both directions and is handling the investigation of the collision.
