The United Boys & Girls Club of Santa Barbara County had a fun-filled night in Santa Ynez for their Corks for Kids event on Friday, April 20, 2018. This was UBGC’s first fundraiser in the valley to help support their newest location in Buellton that opened August 2017. “Our first of many Corks for Kids event was a huge success”, shared CEO of United Boys and Girls Clubs of Santa Barbara County Michael Baker, “We had so many new faces supporting our new Club in Buellton alongside one of our strongest supporters, Tribal Chairman Kenny Kahn and the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians.”
Among the attendees was Kenneth Khan, Tribal Chairman for the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians, stating, “The United Boys & Girls Club of Santa Barbara County has played a vital role in helping youth throughout the community, so our tribe was proud to support this inaugural event.” He went on to add, “We hope the success of Corks for Kids will help this great organization continue to reach more children and provide valuable resources for parents here in Santa Ynez Valley.”
UBGC would like to thank their Title Sponsor – Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians and their Platinum Sponsor- Fast Spring for helping with such a successful event. A special thank you to all the tasting vendors: Alma Rosa Winery & Vineyards, Broken Clock Vinegar Works & Shrubs, Bottlest, Buttonwood Winery & Vineyard, Esfuerzo, Kita Wines, and Naughty Oak Brewing Company. Without the support of the community, this event wouldn’t be possible.
“I was happy to have parents, Chamber members and Buellton Rotary members attend Corks for Kids. It was great to see the community come together and support such a great cause while also having a great time,” added Buellton Club Director Jesse Gonzalez.
