Will Santa Barbara Adopt Safe Exchange Zones?

I recently read that the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office created a “Safe Exchange Zone” to protect residents to meet others when buying and selling items online.

A designated parking spot was created that is monitored by surveillance cameras at all times for individuals to complete these transactions without the fear of being ripped off or violence from occurring. “Deputies and officers are not involved in the transactions, however the presence of law enforcement nearby will hopefully reduce anxiety, and increase honesty in exchanges. If a transaction does go wrong, law enforcement will have video of the exchange. The designated areas will have signs posted, and are free to use.”

I read this and thought it was a great idea. Will Santa Barbara County be adopting this anytime soon?
