A man in his 30’s was airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital after becoming pinned under a tractor in Orcutt on Monday.
At 4:37 p.m., Santa Barbara County Firefighters responded to the 8300 block of Graciosa Road. When crews arrived they found a tractor had rolled over the man, pinning him underneath.
After extensive extrication, the man was removed and complaining of major injuries. He was then airlifted to the hospital.
He complained of major injuries? By the pictures, I would think it’s apparent he had major injuries… Sheesh.
That’s emergency responder terminology. Because they aren’t doctors so they can’t tell exactly what is wrong, but instead state the patient is complaining of X, Y, Z, and based on those complaints they determine whether it’s minor, moderate, or major. Then they figure out the best hospital transport based on those injuries.
