Whiskerman at Dancing Oak Ranch

The Ojai Concert Series presents Whiskerman in concert at Dancing Oak Ranch on Saturday June 24th.  Whether entranced in a ballad or clawing out some frenzied rock and roll, Whiskerman is seeking the heart of the matter. Lush instrumentation combined with front man Graham Patzner’s profound lyricism and unflinching delivery culminate in a sound that is soulful, mythical, and raw. Patzner’s voice, both smokey and soaring, leads a passionate live show as the band’s classic rock sound seamlessly cascades through realms of bluesy devotion, psychedelic melancholy, and twangy celebration. Whiskerman’s shows tend to set spells, either sweeping the audience up in revelation, or dropping them into knee-slapping frenzy. Their tunes range from barroom rock n’ roll, blue eyed soul, pastoral folk, workingman’s blues, to rainy day ragas.

Gates open at 5:00 PM with Ventura’s Jeff Steve on classical guitar at 5:30 and  Aerial Visions, from LA from 6:00 till 7:00. This dynamic instrumental acoustic duo, guitarists Danilo Vargas and Travis Lee Stephenson, draw inspiration from their individual and diverse styles to create a unique take on the modern acoustic sound. Their original compositions demonstrate technical proficiency, melodious melodies, and harmonic maturity. Then Whiskerman performs 2 hours of psychedelic-folk-rock, guaranteed to get you on your feet and dancing in the moonlight.

Dancing Oak Ranch is nestled in a beautiful, wooded canyon, a mile off HWY 150, halfway between Carpinteria and Ojai. Gates open at 5:00 (please don’t arrive earlier). All shows will feature an optional potluck picnic, so bring a dish to share and have a picnic with friends and the band under the oaks. BYOB and friendly, leashed dogs are OK. Adult tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door, Kids 7 to 14 are $10 and can be paid for at the show..
