On Sunday, August 13th hundreds of yoga enthusiasts are expected to show up on the main lawn of the Bacara for the 1st Annual YogaFest, presented by #trevorstribe. The event is inspired by the recent and sudden death of CorePower Yoga founder, Trevor Tice. Trevor’s vision was to spread yoga to the masses when he founded CorePower Yoga with Brandon Cox in 2002. Trevor battled substance abuse for much of his adult life.
All event proceeds will be given to CADA’s Daniel Bryant Youth & Family Center in Santa Barbara. The Center home to the largest local teen substance abuse program in the county, serving over 5,500 teens since it opened in 2001. With a success rate of nearly 80-percent, the Daniel Bryant Youth & Family Center has become a model for other youth drug and alcohol abuse programs around the country.
This volunteer driven event is perfect for the new or experienced yogi, with a diverse class mix of yoga for anyone; including a class just for kids. Participants may come for a single class or spend the entire day at YogaFest. You can peruse the local Vendor Village inbetween classes or enjoy a day pass to the Bacara Spa (with purchase of limited VIP tickets).
Classes will be held from 10:30am-5pm and presented by local talent from various popular Santa Barbara yoga studios. The premier class is at the end of day with Sound Off Vinyasa: think DJ, Bluetooth headphones, ocean view & a rockin’ Power Yoga class (headphones supplied)
