Santa Barbara Unified School District proudly invites students and families to its annual High School Showcase event on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Earl Warren Showgrounds. Admission and parking is free.
Prospective high school students and their families are welcome to come see what’s possible within academically-rich opportunities offered for Santa Barbara Unified School District High Schools students in our Academy, Career Technical Education, and Special Programs. Attendees will learn first-hand from students currently enrolled in programs that specialize in automotive technology, computer science, culinary arts, engineering, entrepreneurship, multimedia arts and design, visual arts and design, and more!
Participants in the showcase include Academy and Career Technical Education programs from Dos Pueblos High School, San Marcos High School and Santa Barbara High School. There will also be representatives from Santa Barbara Unified School District’s Alternative Education/Middle College as well as Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) and Program for Effective Access to College (PEAC). In addition, families will have the opportunity to speak to representatives from Santa Barbara Unified School District Student Services and high school academic counselors regarding enrollment and transfer information.
The popular Santa Barbara Unified School District high school showcase expanded this year to include participants from various Career Technical Education and Special Programs. The event
also occurs earlier in the year to give prospective high school students and their families wishing to apply to another school within Santa Barbara Unified School District an opportunity to gather
information and ask questions about school transfers in advance of the transfer application deadline. Transfer applications are available through Santa Barbara Unified School District
Student Services beginning December 1, 2017 and must be submitted by Friday, January 19, 2018, which includes those students applying for any Academy.
