A short talk exploring tips and tricks for finding grant opportunities and getting support for your project. At the May BizArts John Hammond will share some of his vast knowledge of tracking down and applying for grants. He will include a brief explanation of basic grant writing. For the curious, a list of most common mistakes to avoid will be shared.
John Hammond is a career fundraiser and grant writer with decades of experience raising money for a wide range of projects in education, the arts, public humanities, social sciences, community organizations, medical fields, etc. In the last decade, he has raised tens-of-millions of dollars, worked on over 500 grant applications, and taught graduate level classes at UCSB on grantsmanship. He is the Director of Development for the Gevirtz Graduate School of Education at UCSB and has a PhD in Education.
