Graduate pianist Ching-Yun Chen will present a recital on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 7:30 pm in Karl Geiringer Hall. The program will feature works by Domenico Scarlatti, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Claude Debussy, and Frédéric Chopin. Admission is free (no reservation required).
Ms. Chen was born in Taiwan and received her master’s degree in Keyboard Performance from the University of Miami, Florida where she studied with Santiago Rodriguez and her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the Fu Jen Catholic University in Taiwan with Linju Ou. Ching-Yun Chen is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance at the University of California, Santa Barbara with Charles Asche. Ching-Yun was awarded the Preliminary Round of Concerto Competition in Piano at UM and received numerous prizes in Taiwan, such as second place in the National Student Competition of Music and first prize in the Taipei County Student Competition of Music. As a recitalist, she also performs as a collaborative pianist. Ching-Yun performs regularly in Taiwan and the United States with many vocalists, instrumental musicians, and choirs.
