Saturday and Sunday, November 30 and December 1, Italian Pottery Outlet at 929 State Street will be offering holiday shoppers a chance to browse and buy handmade Italian ceramics in addition to a wide selection of affordable gift items from around the globe to support the Santa Barbara School of Performing Arts (SOPA).
Saturday, November 30, at 5:30 PM Italian songs and Broadway highlights will be performed by Dauri Kennedy and voice students from the DMK Studio. Wine and light snacks will be available to shoppers. In addition there will be a raffle to benefit SOPA. All proceeds from this event (20% of sales) will support scholarships for SOPA participants.
Italian Pottery Outlet will be donating 20% of sales for the weekend (including online sales and gift certificates) to support SOPA, a non-profit educational organization under Beacon of Light Foundation. SOPA provides training in song, dance and acting to 20-30 students each school year particularly reaching out to underrepresented groups emphasizing community involvement as a core value. This fall the SOPA repertory company performed “Little Shop of Horrors” at La Cumbre Jr High School Theater.
