Donor Advised Funds (DAF) have become a popular vehicle utilized for philanthropic giving. Why is the happening and how can charities benefit from this mega-trend? Speaker Stephen Brooks will explore these questions and more by reviewing current DAF ‘rules of the road,” examining the attraction of DAF’s, and exploring potential strategies for fundraisers and their organizations to leverage DAFs and DAF donors. The speaker at the Tuesday, February 12, 2019, noon-1:30 p.m. meeting of the Charitable Gift Planners of Santa Barbara will be Stephen Brooks, Vice President, West Coast Divisional Manager at Fidelity Charitable. Brooks is based in the firm’s Santa Francisco office. The meeting will be held at Harry’s Plaza Café, 3313 State Street, Santa Barbara and is sponsored by Mission Wealth.

Stephen Brooks earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida and a M.B.A. in Business from Colorado State University. He holds credentials of Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP). Brooks joined Fidelity Investments in 2006 and previously worked at Merrill Lynch, Wachovia Securities, and Arthur Andersen.
