The new weekly local radio show, “Solutions News Radio,” hosted by Rinaldo Brutoco, president and founder of the World Business Academy, will air live this Friday from 5-6 p.m. on KZSB 1290 AM radio. There will be replay broadcasts Friday from 11 p.m.– 12 a.m., Saturday from 5- 6 p.m. and again on Sunday from 9 -10 a.m. The show is also available on demand as a podcast from Soundcloud.
This week’s guest is Geoff Green, Chief Executive Officer of the Santa Barbara City College Foundation. He has served in this role since 2015 and led the effort to establish the Santa Barbara City College promise. Over the years, Green has been an active presence in the community. Back when Green was a UCSB student, he began organizing on issues of racial equity, access to education, environmental health and LGBTQ equality. After graduation he got his dream job as a Park Ranger/ Naturalist in Yosemite National Park but returned to Santa Barbara in 1997 and joined Fund for Santa Barbara, where he served as Executive Director from 2003-2015.
In 2006, he was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Club of Santa Barbara North. He served on the Leadership Council that drafted Santa Barbara County’s 10- Year Plan to End Chronic Homelessness in 2006-2007. Green has multiple present accomplishments, such as being appointed to the CASE National Committee for Institutionally Related Foundations (IRF).
