Barbara Randall will present ” Decoding the National Archives Online – What’s available and how to search successfully” at the Santa Barbara County Genealogical Society’s monthly meeting, Saturday, May 18th at the First Presbyterian Church, 21 E. Constance at State Street, 9:30 am to 12:00 pm.
The National Archives of the United States are a great resource but using the website has presented such a challenge to many that they don’t even try to use it. Finally, the federal government has realized that change is needed and improvements are being made over time. There are many things to explore on the website, opportunities to participate in the upgrade process and lots of available assistance to ease the research challenges — if you know where to go and use some basic strategies. This presentation will help to get you started on research success with our National Archives.
Barbara Randall is a lecturer, writer, co-chair and moderator of the Southern CA Genealogical Society (SCGS) Jamboree Extension Series Webinars and Jamboree conference Speaker Chair. She is a board member of SCGS, British Isles Family History Society USA, and the Southern CA Chapter Association of Professional Genealogists.
