Guitarists Alex de Grassi | Andrew York in Concert

Acoustic guitar virutoso & innovator Alex de Grassi joins with Grammy winning classical & jazz guitarist Andrew York to fuse the sounds and traditions of steel and nylon into a unique duo program. Their mutual passion for music from a variety of genres has led these two acclaimed composers/performers to find common round where contemporary and classical guitars interact seamlessly. Encompassing original compositions, improvisation and arrangements of standards and pop songs, their concert will present an astonishingly diverse musical landscape.

The concert includes admission to a fine handmade artisanal guitar show at the New Vic from 2-5pm. Blue seat patrons ($45) will be welcome to an after concert reception to meet the musicians and purchase CDs.

Alex & Andrew will hold guitar Workshops, FREE to music students & teachers on Sunday 9/15. This will be a rare opportunity to learn from two of the world’s great guitarists. www.sbama.org
