Whether through donations of funding, skills, or the volunteering of time, our neighbors find ways to fill a philanthropic need. On Tuesday, November 12th, 11:30 am – 1:30 pm, please join the Association of Fundraising Professionals Santa Barbara/Ventura Counties Chapter (AFP-SBV) in celebrating the philanthropist on National Philanthropy Day.
AFP-SBV is proud to announce the following eight honorees: Philanthropist of the Year, Santa Barbara County: Jill Levinson; Philanthropists of the Year, Ventura County: Karen and Tom Pecht; Volunteer of the Year, Santa Barbara County: George S. Leis; Volunteer of the Year, Ventura County: Ken Bauer; Youth Philanthropists of the Year: Isa Mireles and Talia Gerstenfeld; and Professional Fundraiser of the Year: Anne Paul King.
“Affecting social change and providing needed services through philanthropy and volunteerism are so important, particularly in today’s economic and political climates,” says Molly Kemper, National Philanthropy Day Event Chair and AFP-SBV Board member. “We are so fortunate to have as many active professional, layperson, and volunteer members of the nonprofit community as we do. Coming together on National Philanthropy Day for this luncheon and awards ceremony celebrates our accomplishments, services, victories, and mostly, our people, who make it all possible.
The National Philanthropy Day celebration will recognize all the honorees during an awards luncheon at the Santa Barbara Beachfront Hilton, Santa Barbara, California. KEYT-TV News Anchor, Joe Buttitta, will serve as master of ceremonies. More than 200 guests are expected to attend this sell-out event. To make your reservation, please visit www.afpsbv.org.
