Dec 5 Thurs 7 – 9 PM – “ Welcoming the Buddha Home” – teaching by Dawa Tarchin Phillips.
Although most spiritual practices focus on “inner” work, many traditions set up shrines and altars to provide external material support for their practices. Buddha Dharma has a rich tradition ranging from small home altars to monumental shrine rooms, temples, and statues. Many of these items on altars have symbolic purpose and meaning beyond what is evident to the general observer or newcomer. Join us for an explanation and discussion on the set up and items on the Bodhi Path’s altar, the meaning and traditions around them, and even leave with some inspiring ideas for your own personal practice space.
