Each writer, inspired by a work(s) of art in the Museum’s collection, chooses the theme, format, and form for the workshop; allowing both the writers and participants maximum choice. Participants have an opportunity to also share their writing. Sign up for both sessions with one writer or sample across disciplines.

Truths we reveal by hiding: framing and metaphor in the craft of poetry (repeats November theme)
A picture reveals a carefully-curated aspect of a world that exists within and beyond its frame. This writing workshop examines ways to utilize language to draw focus, create tension and drama, or illuminate truths with the frame of a poem.

Meet your instructor
Dr. Chryss Yost is an educator, poet, and book designer. She served as Santa Barbara Poet Laureate (2013-15) and is Co-Editor of Gunpowder Press.
