DIGITAL AGE STAGE: Dos Pueblos Theatre Company Presents 3 Virtual World Premieres!

Dos Pueblos Theatre Company proudly presents the World Premiere of DIGITAL AGE STAGE, a production designed to deliver a brand new Theater-in-the ZOOM experience to your home. DIGITAL AGE STAGE consists of three never seen before, original one-acts: RELATIVITY written and composed by DP Senior Neve Greenwald, GAMES WE PLAY by Kenny Luper and Clark Sayre and JUDGING by Jurgen Wolff. Patrons may purchase individual adult or student tickets ($12 and $9,) but may also purchase a family pass ($20) that covers all the devices in the household. The evening begins with GAMES WE PLAY, a real-time one-act that requires audience participation via ZOOM chats. While contestants try to win games like SHARK TANK, LET’S MAKE A DEAL and FAMILY FEUD, their convoluted interactions reveal the psychological games they’re playing underneath the surface – the games everyone plays in order to survive a constantly shifting world.

The second featured play, JUDGING was written by Jurgen Wolff, established TV/Film Writer and ex-USC Film School faculty. He describes it: In a high-school court case conducted via Zoom, a student jury has to decide whether an incident was a prank, an attempt to help, or harassment in the form of body-shaming. As the sometimes-distracted members of the jury pose questions and the judge tries to keep order, a fractured friendship is exposed…and possibly healed. The play may be performed live or pre-recorded.

The evening caps off with Greenwald’s musical RELATIVITY, which centers around Mileva Maric, the first woman accepted into the prestigious Zurich Polytechnique and Albert Einstein’s wife. Largely uncredited for Einstein’s groundbreaking work, Mileva Maric was a female science pioneer and one whose forgotten legacy Greenwald wishes to acknowledge and celebrate. The musical is pre-recorded.

Sayre acknowledges, “Nothing is ever going to take the place of LIVE theater, but during these challenging times when we cannot gather together for a communal experience, we can at least celebrate a spirit of creativity and innovation as we experiment with a brand new medium: Digital Age Stage.”
