The Santa Barbara Charitable Gift Planners chapter is hosting an online educational webinar “Navigating and Accepting IRA Rollover Gifts- Eliminating Delays When Requesting IRA Death Claims” on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 noon to 1 p.m.

The speaker is Johni Hays on Tuesday, J.D., FCEP who is Senior Vice President at Thompson & Associates in Johnson, Iowa. She has been engaged in the practice of law with an emphasis in charitable and estate planning since 1993. Hays has also worked with the insurance industry helping agents with estate and charitable plans for their clients.
An accomplished writer, she has published estate planning articles in publications such as Planned Giving Today, Estate Planning Magazine, Fundraising Success, Life Insurance Selling and the National Underwriter. Additionally, she is the author of the book, Essentials of Annuities and co-author of the book, The Tools and Techniques of Charitable Planning.
She served as the President of the Charitable Estate Planning Institute from 2012 and retired in 2016. Hays frequently lectures on a national basis to groups on estate and charitable planning, probate, living wills, annuities, life insurance, retirement planning and IRAs, as well as income, estate and gift taxation.
Hays earned a B.S. in Business Administration and a J.D degree from Drake University Law School, Des Moines, Iowa.

Charitable Gift Planners of Santa Barbara, formerly known as the Planned Giving Round Table of Santa Barbara, is a professional association for non-profit development officers and allied professionals in financial, legal, accounting, and consulting services. The chapter’s purpose is to educate members about charitable gift planning, advance the mission of non-profit organizations, and better serve the philanthropic goals of donors and clients. The local council is affiliated with and a Chapter of the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners.
