SBWPC’s “What’s Next for the Feminist Agenda?” A Conversation with Holly Mitchell, Los Angeles County Supervisor

This 90-min. Zoom event features Supervisor Holly Mitchell, who serves on the Los Angeles County’s Board of Supervisors, and is the force behind the groundbreaking Crown Act that prohibits hair discrimination in the workplace. Santa Barbara County 3rd District Supervisor Joan Hartmann joins to discuss the topic: “What’s Next?” This will be a 20-minute discussion format with Supervisor Mitchell, Helene Schneider, and a Young Feminist member, including an open chat box. The last 10 minutes will be pre-recorded questions. Some issues for discussion are how women lead differently; what are the issues for LA County going forward (impact of Covid on women and families)?; why was the passage of the Crown Act important to Supervisor Mitchell.
