TWO WORLDS: Jazz Evening at the Lobero / ft. Antonio Artese

ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2022 Italian pianist Antonio Artese and his trio will perform a special, one-night only performance of jazz favorites. He’ll also premiere a couple new jazz tunes based on opera melodies with a twist: Carmen’s ‘Habeñera’ meets ‘Besame Mucho’… and more! This Night Out is sure to delight; The fearlessly innovative pianist has been praised for his ability to lead audiences on a joyful, seamlessly extemporaneous musical journey. The date (2-22-22) has been specially chosen to invite a touch of extra magic and musical alchemy. Artese will be joined by local favorites Jim Connolly (double bass) and Luis Muñoz (drums/percussion). Antonio, a 1st prize winner of the Rachmaninov International Competition, blends his lifelong passion for jazz with serious classical chops, a gift for improvisation, and – of course – an Italian flair!
