Land Trust Treks are a series of guided hikes for the community to explore scenic Santa Barbara County and to meet your local Land Trust. Free and open to the public.
WHAT:
Join the Land Trust for Santa Barbara County for a free Mother’s Day hike at the Carpinteria Bluffs Nature Preserve on Sunday, May 8th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. You will enjoy scenic views of the mountains and ocean while learning about how the Land Trust worked to save that stretch of coastline from development. You will also learn about the plants that are unique to this coastal habitat.
Hike choices include a shorter (1-mile) hike and a longer (3-mile) hike. Spanish-speaking hike guides will be available.
This hike is designed as a family-friendly event, fit for people of all ages. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Dogs are allowed, but must be on leash. The trail is relatively flat and fully exposed to the sun. The hike is mostly flat with some slopes.
Parking is available at the Carpinteria Bluffs Nature Preserve parking lot at the south end of Bailard Avenue.
Restrooms and water are available at nearby Viola Fields.
Good walking shoes, a hat, and layered clothing are recommended, as well as sunscreen, water, snacks, and a camera and binoculars.
