YAF’s 9/11: Never Forget Project, Largest Nationwide Campus Initiative, to Honor Victims of September 11 Attacks on 21th Anniversary

September 11, 2022 @ 8:00 am PDT

Santa Barbara, CA. – Young America’s Foundation is proud to organize the 9/11: Never Forget Project on hundreds of campuses across the nation and on West Beach in Santa Barbara this weekend. Through this initiative, the largest nationwide campus activism project of its kind, students at schools across the country create displays featuring 2,977 American flags to remember those murdered at the hands of radical Islamists.

Joining campus displays across the country, Young America’s Foundation will also set up 2,977 flags on West Beach in Santa Barbara on Sunday, September 11– a dramatic sight just steps from the Pacific Ocean. Young America’s Foundation is proud to host this event with the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps. Similar displays will be constructed at the Ronald Reagan Boyhood Home in Dixon, IL and on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

At 8:46 AM, Young America’s Foundation with the U.S. Naval Sea Cadets will host a memorial program, featuring a bagpipe tribute at the moment Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center, a moment of prayer, color guard, and singing of the National Anthem.

The day will conclude with taps, retiring of the colors, and a 3-gun salute at 5:00 PM.

If it weren’t for these displays, most schools would ignore the anniversary of September 11. The Biden administration has even put America at risk of another terror attack, after abandoning Afghanistan and allowing for the Taliban to take control of the country.

“Our country was forever changed after the events of 9/11,” said YAF President Governor Scott Walker. “Every student younger than 21 years old in this country was born after 9/11. As schools and public officials across the country attempt to sanitize the tragic attacks, we need to remind the next generation of what happened, who did it, and why they did it.”

This September marks 21 years since the tragic terror attacks in New York City, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C. YAF activists understand the significance of 9/11 and hope to raise awareness about the importance of eradicating terrorism, especially as threats, including the Taliban and ISIS, continue to rise around the world.
