Westmont Public Telescope Night. See cool stuff in the night sky through telescopes set up by the Astronomical Unit, the local amateur astronomy club sponsored by the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History. Most months the large telescope at the observatory is also available for viewing, run by the Physics Department at Westmont. Observations are weather permitting, are held on the third Friday of each month, and are free to the public. The observatory is next to the baseball field.
For the February event, masks are recommended in the dome.
To check the status of the viewing if the weather looks iffy, call the Westmont Telescope Viewing Hotline at 805-565-6272.
